WANA (Nov 10) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) about Iran’s stance on nuclear weapons and commented on recent political events emphasizing “Iran respects the American people’s right to elect their president.”

He referenced the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh shortly after the inauguration of Iran’s president, stating, “Everyone knows who did it and why.”

Araghchi further criticized a new narrative surrounding a supposed assassination plot, calling it an absurd comedy fabricated by writers. “Who can in their right mind believe that a supposed assassin SITS IN IRAN and talks online to the FBI?!” he asked.

He stressed that the ongoing situation is a matter of choice and respect. “The path ahead is a ‘choice,’ and it begins with ‘respect.’”

He firmly stated: “Iran is not seeking nuclear weapons, period! This policy is rooted in our Islamic teachings and security considerations. Trust-building must be mutual—it’s not a one-way street.”
